這是一部半自傳體的電影，改編自Arrabal自己的小說Baal Babylon。它講述的是西班牙內(nèi)戰(zhàn)期間一個(gè)小男孩尋找自己被捕的父親的故事，這個(gè)故事非常暴力、殘酷和超現(xiàn)實(shí)。當(dāng)小男孩得知是母親把父親作為左翼分子出賣后，他開始想象父親的命運(yùn)。電影充滿怪誕的暴力和性，被認(rèn)為是前衛(wèi)派的一個(gè)宣言，也因無(wú)節(jié)制的令人不快的鏡頭而為人責(zé)罵。
