1774年，法國(guó)大革命前幾年，波茨坦和柏林之間的某個(gè)地方……杜馬瓦爾夫人，特西斯公爵和萬(wàn)德公爵，被路易十六清教朝廷驅(qū)逐的浪蕩女，向傳說(shuō)中的沃爾興公爵尋求支持。沃爾興公爵是一個(gè)從德國(guó)來(lái)的引誘者和自由思想者，在這個(gè)偽善和虛偽統(tǒng)治的國(guó)家里，他只身一人。他們的使命是:向德國(guó)輸出自由主義，一種基于拒絕道德和權(quán)威的啟蒙哲學(xué)，但最重要的是，找到一個(gè)安全的地方繼續(xù)他們誤入歧途的游戲。
