　　Set in an underground dungeon inhabited by bundled, ragged human beings, after the nuclear holocaust. The story follows the wanderings of a hero through the situations of survival. People wait for the Ark to arrive and rescue them while their habitat falls apart.　　Delving deep into the dusty and long abandonded vaults of b-cinema in search of lost gems always leaves me with a bittersweet taste. On one hand the discovery of unexpected gems where no one would think them possible is a rewarding experience. On the other hand though it makes one wonder how many of these remarkable low-budget oddities, personal love affairs of directors never quite famous and now all but forgotten, have almost forever slipped from memory?　　n any case what we have here is a little post-apocalyptic gem from Poland that is really better than it has any right to. The dystopian near future of O-BI, O-BA finds a group of survivors of the nuclear war that ravaged the Earth inhabiting an underworld concrete bunker and biding their time as they wait for the mysterious Ark, an air ship of some kind that will come and save them. The Ark proves to be an elaborate hoax, carefully designed to give hope to the malnourished and desperate denizens of the bunker, while in the meantime the dome that separates their miserable existence from the nuclear winter outside is slowly caving in.　　What first striked me about the movie is the design of the bunker and the depiction of the survivors. The survivors are gaunt, filthy and terrible-looking penitents, dressed in rags and aimlessly wandering the neon-lit halls of the bunker like automatons. The bunker is a rundown, seedy place, with bright neon lights peering from all sides like the eyes of malignant beasts.　　On one hand it is a slightly 80's depiction of the dystopian future but the movie never stoops down to MAD MAX cheese. Instead it combines biting political satire with the bleak outlook of a world with no future, black comedy with barbs on apathy, religion and power. The survivors, for example, are fed some kind of flour dropping from a tube that hovers in the air - later on we discover the food supervisor uses books and the Bible itself as filler for this meagre meal. There are many such short symbolic touches, perhaps not life-changing or faith-restoring, yet playful, clever and inspired.　　One thing is for sure; O-BI, O-BA is not your run-of-the-mill sci-fi schlock. It overcomes its modest budget with creativity and has genuine artistic aspirations both from a writing and directing perspective. My opinion is that it should have been filmed in black and white instead of colour though. The director uses atmospheric light and shadow to great effect and it would have registered even better in stark black and white. The blue-green neon on the other hand outstays its welcome after a while. Just a minor gripe in an otherwise solid b-movie with its heart set in all the right places.　　Imagine a less bleak THE ROAD (Cormac McCarthy) being injected with the satire and humour of DR.STRANGELOVE and you're getting there. See it if you can find it.

　　1930年代，小云、小紅（周璇）姐妹被人騙到上海賣給琴師和妓院老鴇夫婦，小云被迫做了暗娼，小紅年紀(jì)尚小，又天生有一副好嗓子，便隨琴師去茶樓終日賣唱。姐妹兩人住在貧民窟，在她們對(duì)面，住的分別是報(bào)販老王和吹鼓手陳少平（趙丹）。因?yàn)殚e來無(wú)事時(shí)陳少平常同小紅對(duì)窗玩鬧，兩人漸生感情?！　⌒〖t賣唱時(shí)被流氓古成龍纏上，對(duì)方欲強(qiáng)霸她為妾，小紅找陳少平商量對(duì)策，兩人本想借助律師將正義伸張，不想律師雙眼只認(rèn)錢，無(wú)奈之下只得逃走，而這一過程中，老王對(duì)小云由憐生愛，可是小云卻因自卑不敢正視。琴師偶知陳少平與小紅下落，放風(fēng)給古成龍，古成龍趕到小紅住處時(shí)，屋里只有她和小云，兩人生命危在旦夕。

　　1945年,盟軍突入德國(guó),德國(guó)瘋狂科學(xué)家李然博士研究的項(xiàng)目----科學(xué)怪人法蘭克的心臟被潛艇秘密轉(zhuǎn)移到了其同盟國(guó)日本的廣島陸軍醫(yī)院,供起研究出不死的士兵,然而核子爆炸使一切化為灰勁.十五年后,科學(xué)家在廣島研究核子放射能對(duì)人類還有環(huán)境的研究中,意外的發(fā)先了一個(gè)孩子,在檢測(cè) 中發(fā)現(xiàn)其雖然受過核子放射能的照射,但一點(diǎn)都沒有被污染,經(jīng)過調(diào)查發(fā)現(xiàn)原來這個(gè)孩子在核子爆炸后迷一樣的出現(xiàn)在廣島的英樹醫(yī)院(原廣島陸軍醫(yī)院),而且他還在不停的變大,所以科學(xué)家們推測(cè)當(dāng)年的法蘭克的心臟在受到了放射能的影響后,發(fā)生了異變,他們稱其為廣島怪人法蘭克.然而這時(shí)的法蘭克已經(jīng)變大到人們不可控制的地步,并且逃出了醫(yī)院,另一方面,在秋田油田,出現(xiàn)了地底怪獸,最后兩只巨大的生物在平原相遇,并進(jìn)行了激烈的戰(zhàn)斗,最后法蘭克用火戰(zhàn)勝了地底怪獸,然而與此同時(shí)一只大章魚在悄悄的接近他.........
