本片改編自同名小說，故事始于高一夏天，坂平陸（高橋海人 飾）與水村真奈美（芳根京子 飾）在泳池事故后靈魂互換。兩人堅(jiān)信能恢復(fù)原狀，苦尋方法，然而15年過去，依舊未能換回。升學(xué)、初戀、就業(yè)、結(jié)婚、生子，他們只能以彼此的身體走完人生重大節(jié)點(diǎn)。直到30歲那年夏天，真奈美突然說：“我或許知道怎么換回來了?！泵\(yùn)的齒輪，開始再次轉(zhuǎn)動(dòng)——

 故事發(fā)生在第一次世界大戰(zhàn)期間，瑪麗（克拉拉·鮑 Clara Bow 飾）暗戀著英俊的杰克（查爾斯·巴德·羅杰斯 Charles 'Buddy' Rogers 飾），可是杰克的心思卻全部放在了大小姐西爾維婭（喬拜娜·勞斯頓 Jobyna Ralston 飾）身上，無奈西爾維婭亦有她的心上人，那就是富家子弟大衛(wèi)（理查德·阿倫 Richard Arlen 飾）。戰(zhàn)爭爆發(fā)了，大衛(wèi)和杰克投身軍隊(duì)為國家效力，在軍中，身為情敵的兩人關(guān)系漸漸緊密，之后成為了摯友。一場激烈的戰(zhàn)役中，大衛(wèi)遭遇了意外，悲痛的杰克決心為朋友報(bào)仇。然而，杰克并不知道的是，大衛(wèi)沒有死，他甚至偷到了一架敵機(jī)。正當(dāng)大衛(wèi)喜滋滋地駕駛著敵機(jī)返回營地之時(shí)，與為朋友報(bào)仇心切的杰克撞了個(gè)正著。

　　故事發(fā)生在萬圣節(jié)的當(dāng)晚，塔拉（Jenna Kanell 飾）和道恩（Catherine Corcoran 飾）醉醺醺的從一個(gè)派對(duì)中離開，走在清冷的大街上，兩人打算去一家披薩店弄點(diǎn)吃的，一個(gè)小丑打扮的男人尾隨她們也進(jìn)入了店里，雖然小丑的樣貌十分可怖，但個(gè) 性似乎還挺可愛的，除了他把店里的廁所弄的一團(tuán)糟，氣炸了店主?！　≈?，塔拉和道恩離開了店里，塔拉進(jìn)入了一間公寓上廁所，道恩在路邊等她，小丑再度出現(xiàn)在了她的身后，這一次，小丑想做的便不僅僅是逗她笑這么簡單了。小丑打暈了塔拉，當(dāng)塔拉再度醒來時(shí)，映入眼簾的，是被倒掛的道恩和在一邊手持電鋸的小丑。
