黃百鳴,張曼玉,袁潔瑩,陳加玲,徐克,曹查理生前是過(guò)氣女歌星的女鬼徐半香（張曼玉），算準(zhǔn)某名將要臨盆的孕婦會(huì)于某間醫(yī)院生產(chǎn)，準(zhǔn)備投胎重新做人，不想，該孕婦被搖身變作某所高中教師的開(kāi)心鬼（黃百鳴）送錯(cuò)醫(yī)院，徐半香錯(cuò)過(guò)投胎時(shí)機(jī)。 為泄心頭之恨，徐半香開(kāi)始想方設(shè)法捉弄開(kāi)心鬼，最甚一次，她附身開(kāi)心鬼班里女班長(zhǎng)（袁潔瑩），令她跑到夜總會(huì)稀里糊涂地大鬧了一場(chǎng)，結(jié)果在該家夜總會(huì)尋歡作樂(lè)的一群流氓被抓，開(kāi)心鬼受到無(wú)辜牽連，徐半香又得意又擔(dān)憂之時(shí)，開(kāi)心鬼卻用愛(ài)來(lái)感化她，眼看皆大歡喜，出獄后的流氓不請(qǐng)自來(lái)。

But Soriya’s waking hours in the apartment and its surroundings are punctuated by terrifying, bloody visions, almost as though she were a conduit for horrors of the past wanting to seep into the present. Inrasothythep Neth and Sokyou Chea’s blood-chilling psychological horror explores a personal and political past through the present, transforming a characterful space into an insidious environment. Surrounded by modern high-rises, this decrepit structure, with its brutalist architecture and peeling surfaces, is a relic from a dark period in history whose painful memories it has absorbed. In tracing Soriya’s ominous journey back to her roots, Tenement hints at a necessary reckoning with Cambodia’s political past without overplaying its historical dimension. It’s an impressive work from a woefully underrepresented national cinema.
